First Year at Austin Opera: 1991
Job: Angie is responsible for all aspects of the President’s Council, Chairman’s Forum, and Sponsor’s Circle individual giving campaigns. She also provides additional support for Leadership Giving programs and is responsible for executing all patron level events, benefits, and VIP services.
Angie Bonnici was hired by Austin Lyric Opera in April of 1991 and has worked closely with the extended family of opera staff, trustees, volunteers and donors over the years. She has served as Guild Liaison, Associate Director of Development and Director of Patron Relations, and has helped coordinate Opera Balls, Opening Night Galas, The Perfect 10, Serenata Wine Dinner & Auctions and other fundraising events. She has been instrumental in developing and growing vital annual giving programs: the President’s Council and Chairman’s Forum. As Director of Individual Giving she is currently responsible for creating and implementing development activities for Austin Opera’s Patron Programs.
Angie began her career in fundraising at the San Francisco Zoological Society. During her 8 years in Development at the San Francisco Zoo she gained experience in many areas including annual giving, special events, telemarketing, volunteer management, and donor relations. She coordinated the Zoological Society’s major annual events – Zoo Run and Zoofest, she participated in the $7 million capital campaign to raise funds for The Primate Discovery Center and developed the first formal behind-the-scenes tour program for Zoo Guardians at the San Francisco Zoo.
