First Year at Austin Opera: 2017
Job: Melysa oversees all marketing and box office department activities and strategies.
Melysa Rogen has been in arts administration for the last six years and in marketing positions for the last ten years. She came to Austin Opera in 2017 to oversee all marketing and communications for the company as Director of Marketing and Communications. She is responsible for all earned revenue streams and oversees one communications team member and one patron services team member as well as numerous contractors and seasonal employees.
Melysa began her arts career at the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra in their marketing and communications department. She became the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Fort Wayne Philharmonic in Indiana in 2014 and during her tenure, sales increased by 18% over two seasons. Additionally, she helped the Philharmonic expand their reach in the community through collaborations with fellow arts organizations including “Live at Lunch,” where the orchestra performed in non-traditional venues for audiences across the city during lunch hour.
Melysa graduated from Luther College in Iowa with a B.A. in Music and Business.
