Ticket Policies & Age Requirements

Current 2020-2021 Season Subscribers – Welcome to the New 2021 Season!

Current subscribers’ packages (those who have previously purchased or renewed for the 2020-2021 Season) will automatically shift to include three operas at the Long Center in 2021:

  • An All-Star Concert in January 2021
  • Puccini’s Tosca in April/May 2021
  • Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, which has been rescheduled to November 2021.

Austin Opera subscribers who have renewed for the previously announced 2020–2021 Season will be automatically ticketed for the 2021 Long Center Season. Subscribers’ seats will be the same as previous seasons for Tosca and The Marriage of Figaro. Subscribers will be reseated for An All-Star Concert to accommodate the latest social distancing requirements; seats will be as close to their original locations as possible.

How Do I Purchase a 2021 Season Subscription?

Once all current subscribers have been seated, additional 2021 Long Center Season subscriptions will be available for sale starting September 15, 2020—quantities will be limited based on seating capacity.

How Do I Purchase Single Tickets for the 2021 Season?

A limited number of single tickets for An All-Star Concert may be made available once all subscribers have been seated—stay tuned for an on-sale date. Single tickets for Tosca and The Marriage of Figaro will go on sale February 1, 2021.

NEW! Austin Opera’s Streaming Option

For the Long Center productions of An All-Star Concert and Tosca, Austin Opera will provide a one-time digital at-home streaming option for subscribers who are either reluctant or unable to return to the theater. Each production’s opening-night performance will be filmed by an expert three-camera crew and a professional sound design team. A patron services representative will contact subscribers prior to the start of each production to explain the in-person and at-home choices.

How Do I Add Winter and Spring 2022 Productions?

New subscriptions for the winter and spring 2022 productions, including the rescheduled performances of The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs, will go on sale in the spring of 2021. More information will become available on our website or, if you have specific questions, call us at 512-472-5992.

I Have Tickets for Penelope in October. What Do I Do?

Penelope, the Opera ATX production slated for performances in October 2020, has been postponed to the 2021-2022 Season. The opera, by Sarah Kirkland Snider and Ellen McLaughlin, will be presented in collaboration with Fusebox (The Fusebox Festival) at The North Door. A patron service representative will be in touch with you regarding your tickets in September 2020.

Refund Policy

Austin Opera does not offer refunds of any kind on tickets purchased to its performances or events.

Exchange Policy

Austin Opera allows two types of exchanges within the same production: for an alternate performance date, or for different seats at the same performance. There is a $10 exchange fee per order. Note: this exchange fee does not apply to Austin Opera Season Ticket Holders if the exchange is prior to 24 hours of the curtain time. No other exchanges are permitted.

Can’t make it? Donate your seats!

If you are unable to attend or exchange your tickets for others within a particular production, Austin Opera invites you to donate your tickets back to the Opera.

Age Requirements

Austin Opera welcomes patrons age eight (8) and older to public performances at the Long Center. Children under age eight will not be admitted to the theatre. There are no exceptions to this policy.
