You’re invited to a specially curated virtual cheese tasting event, Arias & Antonelli’s, hosted by Antonelli’s Cheese Shop in collaboration with Austin Opera!
Join us for a virtual tasting tour inspired by recent performances from Austin Opera’s Live from Indy Terrace series. One of Antonelli’s own cheese mongers has expertly paired a variety of cheeses with selected arias based on their country of origin and language, and you will be guided through the tasting while some of our most endearing Live from Indy Terrace performances are reprised for you on screen.
Featured performances will include selections from Der Rosenkavalier, Tosca, Carousel, and more! Here’s a sample from the program:
- “Presentation of the Rose” from Der Rosenkavalier by Richard Strauss (Elena Villalón, soprano), paired with a German Rougette
- “Au fond du temple saint” from The Pearl Fishers by Georges Bizet (Bryan Hymel, tenor & Weston Hurt, baritone), paired with a French Raclette and an Ossau Iraty
Registration for the event is $40 per person and includes a personal cheese tasting plate you have delivered or pick up from Antonelli’s directly. Antonelli’s supports the Austin community by partnering with local nonprofits on fundraising events, and 10% of every registration fee for Arias & Antonelli’s will be given back to support Austin Opera!
