Ofrenda - Workshop

An opera workshop for new works is a laboratory stage in the development of a newly written opera, where the creative team tests, listens to, and revises a piece before it undergoes a costly, fully staged premiere.

Austin Opera will host a workshop for Ofrenda starting on Wednesday, June 17 with artists, creatives, directors, and staff. The weeklong workshop will culminate with members of the Austin community and the opera community gathering to experience a full workshop performance. This presentation offers a unique opportunity to experience excerpts from the work and engage directly with the creators as they continue shaping the piece.
