Austin Opera is dedicated to ensuring our audiences, staff, artists, and anyone else who attends an event has the best experience possible. Please take a moment to read through our ticket policies and answers to frequently asked questions.

Ticket Policies

Austin Opera does not offer refunds of any kind on tickets purchased to its performances or events. If events are cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, Austin Opera will contact ticket holders on available options.

Austin Opera allows ticket holders the following exchange options:

  1. Exchange tickets for a different performance date within the same production.
  2. Exchange your seats at the same performance.

A $10 exchange fee will apply per order. If you the price of the performance and seat are higher than the original payment, ticket holder will be charged the difference.

Season ticket holders may exchange for free if the exchange is 24 hours prior of the curtain time. No other exchanges are permitted.

Tickets to Austin Opera performances are strictly sold through our Box Office or our site, AustinOpera.org.

All other forms of tickets from other vendors are invalid, and Austin Opera is not responsible for tickets sold through third-party websites. Refunds or exchanges will not be administered for any third-party tickets, no exceptions.

Mobile tickets will be available in your account 48 hours prior to a performance, or physical tickets will be mailed to the address provided by the initiator. Tickets are not emailed for printing or scanning.

If you are unable to make a performance due to illness or another circumstance, please consider your exchange options. You may also give your tickets to a family or friend to go in your place.

If you are unable to attend or exchange your tickets for others within a particular production, Austin Opera invites you to donate your tickets back to the Opera. A tax deductible receipt will be sent by the end of the tax year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Austin Opera welcomes patrons age eight (8) and older to public performances. Children under age eight will not be admitted into the performance venue. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Austin Opera holds community events throughout the year for all-ages. Please make sure you sign up to receive emails for the latest information on events family events taking place near you!

Evening operas at the Long Center will being at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday Matinee performances will be begin at 2:00 p.m.

Times are subject to change. If a performance time change is required, notification will be given to ticket holders in advance to allow patrons to make the proper arrangements.
