Before the Opera

Enhance your opera experience by joining us at our free pre-show events! Opera Overtures, Toasts & Trivia, and Coffee & Conversations are designed to help you learn more about the production while having fun! Read more about each event below.

Opera Overtures

Join us in the theater at 6:30 p.m. before Saturday’s opening night performance for a special talk by Dr. Charles Carson that will give you a sneak peek into Rossini’s life and the historical and social context of this opera. The talk is free to all ticket holders and will be a fascinating pre-show addition to the evening for both opera aficionados and first-time operagoers alike. This lecture will be held at the Dell Hall Orchestra level.

Trivia & Toasts

Thursday at 6:30 p.m. inside the Kodosky Lounge on the Mezzanine level, come and test your opera knowledge with our pre-show Trivia & Toasts in the Kodosky Lounge. Hosted by our quizmaster and Director of Education & Community Impact, Andréa Ochoa. You can compete to win a prize basket from ROXOR Gin and some serious bragging rights!

Attendance is free for all ticketholders and includes a complimentary cocktail sponsored by ROXOR Gin (while supplies last), a cash bar, and a happy-hour vibe.
