Austin Opera is excited to provide the opportunity for students in Central Texas to experience live opera through our Access Opera program, and to support teachers in their efforts to create this meaningful and memorable occasion for their students.

The safety of our patrons, artists, and staff is always our top priority.

At the moment, the Long Center will be requiring the following to attend all INDOOR events:

  • A printed copy of a negative COVID-19 test result obtained within 72 hours (3 days) of the event for all attendees.
  • In lieu of a negative test, a patron can voluntarily provide printed proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, with final vaccine dated at least 14 days prior to the event.
  • Printed negative test results or proof of vaccination must be dated with your full name matching your ID.
  • Masks must be worn at all times indoors and outdoors, except while actively eating or drinking.

If the health and wellness protocols change, Austin Opera will announce the changes via our website and make every attempt to reach educators who have signed up to attend. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email Debra Erck: DErck@austinopera.org.

INFORMATION TO NOTE:

  • Reservations are taken on a first come, first serve basis.  Once you register, you should receive confirmation of your reservation within 36 hours (3 business workdays).  If you do not, please contact Debra Erck, Director of Education at derck@austinopera.org.
  • Sold out? Get your name on the waitlist by emailing derck@austinopera.org.
  • We will contact you by email if tickets become available up to 48 hours before the dress rehearsal.
  • Tickets will be scanned as you enter the Long Center.  If attending with a group, please distribute tickets to individuals before entering the hall. You are encouraged to email us at least 4 days prior to the performance if you have extra tickets  that will not be used so we can pass them along to someone on our waiting list.
  • Only groups traveling by bus will have reserved seating.  All other attendees will have open seating options on a specific level (orchestra, mezzanine, balcony).
  • Funds for transportation are available, based on need and availability. Email derck@austinopera.org to inquire.

NOTE: Austin Opera will have a photographer or videographer on site during the dress rehearsal to take pictures of the production, and possibly of the audience.  If you would be willing for us to take pictures of your group, click here to print out a photo release form for parents to sign.
