In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Austin Opera is delighted to share our first performance in the Concerts at the Consulate series! The broadcast will premiere October 1 at 3:00 PM on our Facebook and YouTube channels.
The program features cherished Mexican songs and celebrated Mexican composers in honor of Mexican Independence Day performed by mezzo-soprano Stephanie Sanchez and pianist Maimy Fong.
After the premiere, the concert will be available to watch on-demand on our digital channel, Live from Indy Terrace (LIT) with subtitles in both English and Spanish. Details on how to watch can be found on the LIT page.
The program was recorded live at the Mexican Consulate in Austin on Saturday, September 18 in front of a small, invited audience. Future series recitals will be open to the public with RSVP—stay tuned for information on how you may attend!
