In celebration of Dia de los Muertos, Austin Opera and the Consulate General of Mexico in Austin are delighted to feature a Mariachi concert by mezzo-soprano Vanessa Alonzo and Trio Chapultepec and the launch of Mariana Nuño’s new book, Dining with the Dead. Attendees will also have the opportunity to view the Consulate’s ofrenda in honor of the late Mexican composer Armando Manzanero and a display of Tzompantli by local artists with an introduction and explanation of the tradition by Claudia Montero.

The one-hour program will be presented at the Mexican Consulate in Austin to a limited number of in-person attendees. To reserve a seat, please RSVP using the button below. Admission is free. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Show begins at 7:00 p.m. Map and address here.
