Concerts at the Consulate: Cruzar la Cara de la Luna

Wednesday, January 24 at 7:00 p.m Doors open at 6:30 p.m. This unique event will be held at the Consulate of Mexico in Austin, and will feature Austin Opera Curator of Hispanic and Latinx Programming, Claudia Chappa, with commentary from Cruzar director, David Ramadés Toro. This program will explore themes from Cruzar, including immigration and the Bracero labor program.

Concerts at the Consulate: Children’s Day

Saturday, April 6 at 12:00 p.m. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. This unique event for families will be held at the Consulate of Mexico in Austin. Teaching artists Cristina Flores and Monica Salas will engage kids through opera and music during this bilingual, one-hour interactive program and performance. The program content is ideal for children in grades K-3. However, kids of all ages and their caregivers will enjoy hearing Ms. Flores and Ms. Salas perform traditional arias and songs by Latinx composers.
