Mozart’s The Impresario gets an update to present-day Texas when dueling divas vie for the leading role as their local opera company grapples with a global pandemic. With raucous laughter and surprising cameos from famous opera singers, The Impresario makes the case for coming together through music during difficult times. In Bon Appétit!, renowned mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton delights as Julia Child in an imagined episode of The French Chef. Chocolate-covered hilarity ensues!
A co-production of Houston Grand Opera and Austin Opera, this 60-minute double bill marks the third production in our Sarah and Ernest Butler Performance Series and will be presented at Blue Starlite Drive-Ins for FREE on December 6 and December 9, 2020.
