Torres, lecturer in Ethnomusicology and Director of the Mariachi Paredes de Tejastitlán at the University of Texas Butler School of Music, as they discuss the marriage of Mariachi and opera in Cruzar la Cara de la Luna.

Wednesday, January 24 at 7:00 p.m Doors open at 6:30 p.m. This unique event will be held at the Consulate of Mexico in Austin, and will feature Austin Opera Curator of Hispanic and Latinx Programming, Claudia Chappa, with commentary from Cruzar director, David Ramadés Toro. This program will explore themes from Cruzar, including immigration and the Bracero labor program.
